When you join one of our five day voyages, crew are able gain an RYA Competent Crew Qualification, which is the perfect introduction to life at sea.

OYT North is now a recognised Duke of Edinburgh Award Provider and can help you reach your goals. Those studying towards a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award can gain the Residential element of the award, during a five day voyage.

Pushed for time? Don’t worry; crew can pick up an RYA Start Yachting qualification in a weekend.

Although these qualifications may never be formally used for sailing purposes, they do represent a level of individual attainment and personal development which can be excellent supporting evidence for university applications and job interviews.
