OYT North to Attend Blyth Tall Ships Regatta

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Tall Ships Races, already well known to the people of Newcastle and Hartlepool, and in 2016 they're coming to Blyth. OYT North will be present at Blyth throughout the weekend with our yacht Ocean Venture.

The North Sea Tall Ships Regatta will take place right across the August bank holiday weekend (26th-29th) and we'll be there with a stand to promote the work we do with young people in the North East and beyond. These events have proven hugely popular in the past, bringing thousands of people to the region and we can't wait to be part of it.

Up to 30 tall ships are expected to descend on the Port of Blyth from all around the world. After leaving the North East, they will sail 500 miles across the North Sea and the Baltic to Gothenburg in Sweden. Their departure is an awe-inspiring spectacle that we get to see once in a decade at best.

OYT North won't be taking part in the race but there is an exciting opportunity to join us in the Parade of Sail and then sail back to our home port of North Shields. To register an interest please contact development@oytnorth.org.uk
